Fall

Well I ordered groceries on line and while the person is coming to the door. Rick decided to push his wheelchair back while it was locked and fell back hand hit his head on the wall. I had to call paramedics to come and help pick him up. Life with PTS.

So sorry...is he alright now? I’m always surprised to see how strong mom is despite the fact that she really doesn’t have much control over her movements anymore. She could push almost anything locked or unlocked.

He is fine when the paramedics showed up I was like he has this and this wrong with him. Then one of them said you don’t seem really concerned, I looked at him and said. Oh no I am it’s just this happens a lot and if there is no blood and he seems normal I know he’s good. It’s crazy what our lives have become.

How true, what odd things become normal. Take care both of you 😊

Falling becomes the new normal- sadly we have to become a little desensitised! I was sometimes quite irritated by people’s ‘over reactions’

It is exhausting though!! We had anti tip device on wheelchair -long arms which ran underneath which prevented the backward tip. Maybe worth exploring

Take care of yourself

Big hugs Tippy

Thanks I’ll check into the long arm thing.

Hi we had something similar happen. Why do these medical people make the assumption we are detached and don't care of course we do it is just as you say we become used to it and we can't have melt down every single time something happens or we would go crazy. take care.
