Fab photo, Fishponds. Just the sort of pic to download onto a Moonpig greetings card for family and friends.

I’ve found several dead/dying Bumbles in the garden this week so I’m guessing their work is done. Lots of bees this year plus so many really lovely butterflies. I think that lockdown has made us notice more of these things.

The flowers were covered in bee’s this year and as long as they don’t come near me I’m okay with them spreading pollen the way that they do. Sometimes the buzzing gets to me, but by golly I walked right by them to get better views and pictures of the hummingbirds 🤗 Worth it!

I know that we’re supposed to appreciate the bees but they scare me! I’ve been stung a few times and each sting was worse than the first. My fear is that I’ve gradually become allergic to them, but I won’t really know until I get stung again. One time I was playing tennis and I nearly swallowed a bumble bee! It had crawled inside of my coca-cola can and as I took a sip I felt something swirling around on the inside of my mouth. I spit it out. The bee took off, unharmed. He flew away and didn’t seem phased at all. Well after that... I gave up soda 😂 The bees are beautiful though and I love your photo!

Thanks for sharing and bringing back this memory from decades ago!

Wonderful photo. I was watching honey bees this week and amazed at how much pollen they can carry.
