Today's news is that it person with advanced Parkinson has been cured completely at Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai, India. As per the news clippings, the patient was given an injection of apodopamine and within five minutes he was supposedly healed totally. You can all google and go to the site for first hand info. Hi Bhakthan,

Thanks for this news, but forgive me if I am highly sceptical.

Years of increasing nerve death does not repair in a week never mind five minutes.

This is my train of thought.

Hopefully they are on the road to something though.

Best to you.

Apomorphine has been used for years in Parkinson . Has side effects and only suitable for some patients. Parkinson is caused by changes in the brain- please see tau proteins. This "so called news" are to be taken with scepticism. Wonder why these miracles only happen in non controlled trials obscure hospitals and third world countries.

It is not only in third world countries! In Germany for example there are claims of using hypnosis (Sprit of Light) and acupuncture of Dr. Werth and other alternative and obscure treatments for parkinson's!

Ahem, the term 'third world' can give offence. The term is not used anymore. India is far from being a 'third world country'. They They have relief schemes and educational schemes to help very poor countries.

Also, for many years they have had a thriving medical treatment tourism industry for high end complex treatment.

Just mentioning it.

Best to you

Kevin

I'm in the same camp as Kevin. But while we're on the subject, this drug RT001 has been granted FDA approval for clinical trials phase. The YouTube video link isn't professionally created youtu.be/hdKMo25W0g8… more information than anything else. (FDA) has granted Orphan Drug designation to RT001 (Retrotope) for the treatment of progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).

RT001 is a first-in-class, oral deuterated polyunsaturated fatty acid (D-PUFA) that stabilizes mitochondrial and cellular membranes by “fireproofing” against reactive oxygen species. The investigational drug prevents lipid peroxidation caused by polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs), which is believed to be the primary source of several degenerative diseases (eg, Parkinson and Alzheimer disease). The designation is supported by preclinical data that demonstrated the ability of RT001 to inhibit lipid peroxidation, thereby protecting mitochondrial function.

“RT001’s mechanism of action both lowers lipid peroxidation and prevents mitochondrial cell death of neurons which is associated with disease onset and progression,” said Peter Milner, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Retrotope. “Also, RT001 has a synergistic downstream benefit in the pathophysiology of PSP.”
