Today Dad was laid to rest in the small family plot. He is with his parents and 1 brother. It was nice graveside service with lots of family. The reason it took me so long was scheduling a date where the clan, we are scattered across US, could all mostly attend.
I have finally done everything for him I said I could.

Pleased all went well, very special to have been able to gather all the family together for this important occasion. You should feel proud of the vital role you played as your dad”s advocate ensuring all his needs were met with the very best care
You've been a wonderful son, Ron. You must feel great peace knowing you've been able to fulfil your dad's wishes.
Last week my husband's ashes were scattered in a place we held very dear, a place full of some wonderful memories. That evening we had the most glorious sunset and it gives me great peace to know that he is in a place of such peace and beauty. One day I will join him there.
It's a positive feeling when you know you've done everything humanly possible helping your Dad through this terrible illness and at the end fulfilled his final wishes, I pleased it all went well and that as many of the families ly were able to say their goodbyes.
We are in same place as you but still make the arrangements. You should feel very proud of what you achieved. I too have been the main advocate making sure everything possible was done for my dad too.
I will be able to stand at his funeral proud of the person he was but also very proud of what I and the rest of the family achieved on his behalf
It doesn’t take away the pain of your loss but it does give you something back to balance it out just a little bit
Now’s time for you to heal and recharge those batteries and remember your dad and know in your heart just how Damn proud of you he would be
I’m so sorry for your loss. You have been very helpful on this site and you were a wonderful son to your dear dad. I am bleary eyed and not making much sense but my thoughts are with you and all of your loved ones.
I'm so glad that everything worked out as you planned. Your dad was very lucky to have such a caring son. I also appreciate how helpful you have been on here with your common sense approach to all of the problems you encountered along the way. You have set a great example for those of us who are and were dealing with the same issues. May peace be with you.
