Kevin

We didn't get it because I was told it would take too long to convert our garage into a room for G! The garage is there but I was told it would take 2 years before it was agreed and then work completed. I was told if I paid for it myself I could get it done quicker!

I suppose they saw it as a waste of money as G didn't have much time?

Hi Marie

Slaps forehead with palm!

Two years is such a silly time scale.

Waving to you :)

Kevin sadly he was dead within 5 months! However before that nobody mentioned what we were entitled to apart from a lift through the ceiling! My sister-in-law had one and it ruined their dining room and bedroom! It did help her I have to say but she never used the dining room again! Illness is such an upheaval for everyone isn't it? At least she did get some use out of it! G wouldn't have, and I would have been left with a disaster zone.

Believe it or not it's still there although my brother is now living in Spain. He is worried he might need it one day.

So in G's case they were right that it wouldn't have been done in time. Why did they not even suggest it to me when he was first diagnosed though?

How is Liz? How are you? Hope you are coping. My love to you both. I feel as though I have known you both forever!

Hi Marie

Thanks for asking :)

Liz seems to have had another step down this last week.

Communications are often very poor now.

She is also having difficulty sucking so getting food and fluids into her is more difficult. When she was home on Wed. I used a cake icing syringe.

I understand the home are happy to use an enfit PEG syringe in her mouth... So we have some more time.

Hope your doing OK

Warmly

Kevin

Sorry to hear Liz has had another step down. I am hoping you can still communicate a bit?

Please give her a big hug from me. One to you too. None of this is easy is it? Take care of yourself Kevin.

Ha ha ha - we were told we could get the VAT paid on our garage conversion BUT only for the shower section! Wasn't worth bothering xx

That is so weird lol

I give up about the way sensible policies deliver the bizarre.

Waving to you
