Hi, seems to be quiet on here today so I will answer you although stiffness rigidity hasn't started yet with my hubby. I have seen people mention Baclofen which I believe is a muscle relaxant. I know there are lots of posts about this. Maybe do a search on psp for rigidity, stiffness etc. Hopefully soon someone else will come on forum with suggestions.

Agreeing with Daffodil

But adding... get a physio from a neurology team if you haven't already had that service. just ask the GP to make a referral.

Exercise and movement helps a lot with PSP/CBD. My wife has regained function and pushed back stiffness just with this alone.

Hope this helps.

Best

Kevin

Thanks Kevin, I will show W your reply as his back is getting stiff and this might encourage him to move a bit more.

Thankyou all, have spoken to hospice and they are sending a physio out to show us the correct exercises to do which may help. Baclofen is no good as it will effect muscles we don’t want it to effect e.g . Swollowing. Xx

Thanks for getting back and giving info. on Baclofen.

Interesting as quite a few folk are taking it. Though they may well not have swallowing issues at the time. What you say makes sense though.

Good luck, I do so hope you get some improvement.

I also heard massage, heating pad, warm water therapy if you have access to that

Hi. Kay, I been having upper body massage and it has really helped. Took a few sessions to release the tension but am able to stretch left arm in line with physio exercises, could hardly move for ache before and neck stiffness much improved.
