Just wondering if anyone out there is dealing with both PSP and type 1 diabetes and how they are coping.

Sorry, Ian has type 2....for 14 years. He manages ok with metformin. Will be keeping a close eye on his feet especially, as he is very unsteady on them now. He also has other health issues, so I appreciate your concerns. If there is anything I can do to support, let me know.

I was wondering because one seems to affect the other low blood sugar = more likely to fall and in the hot weather i am struggling to keep on top of it all, but we keep going....
I have found out that Ian has a problem not so much with his sugar level, but low blood pressure, particularly after a meal. Apparently this is not uncommon for those with diabetes/Parkinson's. The blood rushes to the tummy to aid digestion. It has made mealtimes very unpredictable and eating out is not always a good idea. He has passed out in restaurants 4 times now! Usually I can spot the signs and manage to get him out before he falls on the floor!
Don't despair. I think we all adjust to the unique situations in which we find ourselves in a surprising and valiant way, and I am sure that is the case with you, too. Diabetes is an added complication, and the heat is so exhausting for everyone. Ian uses a stick or walker all the time now, so his falls are fewer, but the dizziness can be quite debilitating at times.
Drink lots of water! But I guess everyone says that.
Feeling for you.
