Reforming CHC and Social Care

At last Parliament is hearing. CHC and Social Care (Provided by Social Services) are both on their knees with regards to staffing and resources.

At last MPs are picking up their cudgels to get something done. Also to have the two integrated. That should have been done twenty years ago.

I'm not holding my breath... It most likely will not involve new money, but hopefully this maze of services and regulations might become easier to navigate.

Now that Jeremy Hunt is responsible for Health AND Social care, I have already emailed him (trying to strike while the iron is hot !) to point out just some of the difficulties we have to face. Have not yet had a reply though ....

Great idea....If I have some brain power I will try to do something to him as I'm livid at our CCG currently just ignoring me.

Hi Spiralsparkel

If you want to do something to him you'll have to join a very long queue of angry patients, doctors, nurses and all!

CCG - When they didn't respond to me I telephoned the team and asked to speak to a manager. I said it was because the only next step currently open to me was to make a formal complaint and to put the matter over to a specialist legal practice. That I did not want to go down that route so I was telephoning.

He came on the telephone very keen to resolve matters - and he did.

Best to you

Yes the queue would probably stretch to the moon now.

I've written another letter today to CCG, as you advised other day, asking for all paperwork and only giving them 14 days to respond as did't bother replying to last 28 days request!

Had a whinge at GP surgery about Mum being discharged from hospice when is clear she is progressing so said they would talk to them about situation, no idea if it will actually do anything.

Politicians don't seem to have a clue about the real world and how destroying this country bit by bit.

Good for you Spiralsparkle :)

No, they have no idea at all about the plight on many they presume to govern. Jut sound bites to try to remain popular as they hack our country to bits for the profit of the few. There I have broken my rule about not being political here!!!

From your posts I get the sense you are fairly tired, worn out, right now.

You have been, and are, an amazing carer for your Mum. Somewhat of a warrior. Your Mum could not have better.

I do hope you are getting some support and that you look after yourself as much as you may.

Here for you both.

Best

Kevin
