Can't find any Carbidopa/levodopa ER...

My husband takes Carbidopa/levodopa Extended Release 4 times daily. The last time we refilled his prescription, we were told that some manufacturerrs had stopped making the drug. We were able to get his filled for a 90 day supply. Now, we need to refill again, and no pharmacy had it! And the mail order people we use say that they cannot get it either. We have a 17 day supply, and will be calling the dr first thing Monday morning. Anybody switched from the ER to something else? He cannot take regular Carbidopa/ levodopa, as he gets stroke-like symptoms. His dosage of ER is 25/100, and he takes 3 tabs 4 times a day. Help!!!

Sorry I can't help... Just a general question does the medication help your husband?

Yes, it really does. Without it, his balance is much worse, and his stamina is much less-- he feels washed out.

Are you able to do a search online to see who might have it?

Someone came and spoke to our Parkinson's Support Group meeting about that extended version - I got the impression it was being released on a trial basis. Perhaps they found problems with it!?!?!? EVERYthing I say can be wrong!!!! Btw🙂 This was in the US.

I'm Sorry yet at the same time I'm RELIEVED that someone else is having the same problem in getting the

Carbidopa/Levodopa 25/100 ER .. my pharmacyhad 40 pills left and didn't realize they couldn't get more.. I'm suffering terribly. It's been a month I'm used to taking 5 of these a day.. Also on Carbidopa/Levodopa 25/250

I take4 of these a day.. I hope we find some help soon..
