My Barry is not eating well. He says his throat feels like sandpaper.
Is this the build up to using a peg ??
He is going through the angry stage again and is very abusive to the carer.

Sorry but george does not complain about his threat being sore, oh dear this abusive behaviour is the worst thing, I am sure they understand. Sending you a big hug. What about giving him a tablet when he is like that? Xxxx
Wonder if his sore throat is from coughing or if he has a throat infection??? Paracetamol with a lemon and honey drink maybe soothing.
Xxxx
Thank you Tippy. I have been using an anti infection throat spray in case of infection. Let's see what today brings.
My husband did not go through this but he may be experiencing thirst....giving him a thickend liquid might help him. Talk to you Dr first...I wonder if giving him some sort of throat relieving med or herb given to him via a sponge toothbrush would help....even just water on the sponge....((HUGS)) to both you and Barry

Ohhh and the anger thing....B did not display much of this...but have your asked him how he is feeling about having a PEG...Maybe he just needs to "talk".....
Dear abirke , Barry is very confused,
Don't know how much he will understand about the peg. At the moment it's his way or the highway.
He is so used to being in control.

But he wanted the PEG, right? I read about managing anger using of all things the middle finger....Now in Western tradition we use the middle finger to show someone our FRUSTRATION! but in Eastern medicine when pressed it actually relieves anger.
At the base of the nail, on either side of the tip, just hold for a minute or so then switch to other finger...
As you are doing this take breaths in and out....With Bruce he and I would practice breathing in and out together ....seeing how long he could hold it.....
Rubbing the tip of the middle finger sends a calming message to the rest of the body...
.As I have probably already said ...forgive my dementia (where's the acupressure point for memory)....
massaging can be very good for the patient and for you ....the carer..
Love you Althea...
((HUGS{love}HUGS)) that's hugs with love in between...hahaha
Barry is confused about the peg. Either he doesn't want to understand or he actually does not understand.
I believe he thinks of it as another thing going wrong.
I love the idea of the middle finger.
I massage Barry's hands often.
I love to massage and even my dog gets a good massage. She is so cute.
Her body goes limp and legs collapse with ecstasy.
Much love Althea ππ
