Hi MaiSalah, I don't know where in the world you live but here in the UK there are several products for thickening drinks. We get them on prescription from the doctor or they can be bought from the chemist. My husband loved tea but thickened tea is not very nice so he changed to drinking coffee. I bought packets of cappuccino which were quite nice as they are thicker anyway so didn't need much added thickener. I made lots of smoothies which didn't need extra thickening and he loved them. Unfortunately he is now not able to drink anything as it became too dangerous and he opted to have a PEG, feeding tube fitted.

B uses thickened liquids , it is made from a cornstarch of which most processed food already has. Like NannaB, I get it from the chemist , or pharmacist in the US, where I live. He doesn't mind just drinking water with it. but when offered in different flavors, he does not like it..... He is PEG fed but still has to swallow one pill.... thickener helps a bit but he has a suction machine to help if stuff goes down the wrong way...and believe me it has gone down the wrong way and back up and over ceiling and wall and floor and etc

The product won't hurt her in that it is edible.

Good luck

Hi AVB, C manages to swallow his tablet in yoghurt. He just manages a couple of teaspoons, one with the tablet and one to make sure it has gone down.

If you can get some thickener, even a small amount helps, and try getting him to drink through a straw, smallish sips at a time, that seems to work for my husband for now.

Here in the states we have to pay out of pocket for them but well worth it. You can order packets of thick- it online along with pre thickened liquids ( they seem to be more palatable). There is a company Hormel medical Foods that has nutritional food and drinks according to condition. They even have tea!

Good luck. JGC
