New to CBD
Dear Essie, I'm so sorry you have gotten such a difficult diagnosis. I don't know much about CBD, except that you are awfully young for it. Awfully young for any such thing. I hope you have access to decent medical advice. A doctor you can trust makes all the difference. Sorry not to have any practical words for you. Just know, please, that you are not alone. Please keep in touch. Love and peace, Easterncedar
HI Essie23
I am so sorry that you have been diagnosed with CBD.
My husband has CBD, he too is relatively young, started with symptoms in 2010 he was 54. He too started with one side of his body not working properly and then cognitive problems etc. At first they thought that he had had a small stroke but as things worsened and they had to do more and more tests, he was then diagnosed in 2013 with CBD.He is now in his 6th year and will be 60 in October.
Do you know anything about the disease? i found that in the beginning, doctors are quite reluctant to tell you anything much about what to expect, but as my husband's carer I have always tried to find out as much as I can, so as I know what to might be coming........I try to be as positive as possible with my husband,he doesn't need to know everything.
I have learned a lot from this site.
Talking to and reading of what other Carers/ CBD/PSP sufferers are experiencing and how they cope helps enormously.
If you haven't already, it would be a good idea to join PSP association. There is a lot of information and advice that they can give you.
They say that PSP is the closest thing to CBD but CBD is more rare.
There is a CBD site on the Internet, you will find mostly American people on there.
Are you in the UK?
I hope this all helps.
Stay in touch, and take care

this site is the best help I can find for CBD sufferers and their carers. Everyone is so supportive.

Yes, tell me all you can about what I can expect with CBD. I appreciate knowing what meds you have tried, you situations and how I can get help in the USA.

Have you joined the PSPA? You can even speak to them if you need to.
I am in Kent, England. Can you still work? My husband hadn't been able to work for about 3-4 years and is completely dependant on me.
Often, from what I have experienced and read,it would seem that CBD developes differently with each person. So what my husband has experienced may not be the exact same way that you will experience symptoms.
Do you have someone who will be a carer for you if and when you may need one?
You seem pretty good on the computer, typing etc.
Do you see a Neurologist regularly?

\hi i should have said above <i agree iwht EC not nanna b >on this occasion
Welcome to the website Essie23. You are in my prayers. Have you ask the neurologist for something that would help?
