I couldn't cope with a bat in my bedroom but couldn't resist taking a photo of this, one of many baby frogs in our garden. The coin is a 5p.

Even if it is smaller than a 5p coin? This one jumped on the back of my hand as I was cutting grass for the guinea pigs with a pair of scissors.

Great photo! I love all of these guys, and am so fearful for them, with all the bad news about their decline worldwide. Thanks for the smile. Ec

I could comfortably pick up a bat, but a frog????? A few stiff whiskys and gloves and I might manage to pick up a frog. (And nearly 50 yrs ago I dissected them in biology!)

I dissected them in biology as well. At the beginning of one lesson, we all lined up outside the science lab. The first girl in the line glanced through the window in the door and shouted that she wasn't going in as we were cutting up canaries. I was very shy so kept quiet but most of the others protested loudly. Eventually the teacher appeared and demanded quiet before asking what all the noise was about. Someone told her we were not going in because we were dissecting canaries. When she found out who had started the commotion she said something like, " Jenny, how many times have I told you to wear your glasses. They are rats not canaries. They are bright yellow from the preservative used".

Some still didn't want to do it but most didn't mind once we knew they weren't nice little birds.

My rat was pregnant. I found it fascinating.

Love frogs and toads, had toad spawn in the pond for the last 2 years and was thrilled. Xx

Wow! We have never had toad spawn and in the 39 years we have lived in this house, I've only seen 2 toads in the garden.
