Tesco never delivered.

Thank you all for your concern and comments. I thought I'd write a new post rather than answer everyone separately. No, they never delivered my goods. I received two texts telling me there would be a delay, the last one saying it would be with me between 3 and 7.30, sent at 5 pm. I waited and waited. I didn't get to bed until midnight as Colin was active. This morning I received an email saying they were pleased to inform me that my payment for goods had been refunded to the card I had used. I rang customer services and asked them to send the produce today as I can't get out without getting a sitter in. I was told they were sorry but as I had received a refund, I would have to put the order in again and there were no delivery slots for today. I would normally have gone shopping yesterday but Colin's sitter is on holiday. Fortunately another one of our sons arrived. He was supposed to be in Spain at a festival with his solar stage but it had been postponed as conservationists had found that rare Eagles had built nests on the site. Not good for him and the thousands of people who had bought tickets but good for me; I was able to shop. The checkout lady at our local Tesco told me a main water pipe had burst in the entrance to the Tesco distribution centre and vehicles couldn't get in. No ones fault for not delivering but they could have told me and didn't need to refund. I would rather have had the goods. Acado next time Jill but I will email customer services and see what response I get.

Off to my wine appreciation group soon. I will certainly appreciate it tonight.

X

Oh dear poor you, customers services, should give you a big voucher for all your waiting our even just told you in the text what happened, so you could off organised yourself, what about if you were waiting for your dinner, even your bottle of wine!!!!!! Your were lucky that your son came around, but not lucky for him missing out on going to Spain. I don't have my shopping delivered but am thinking about it, have a good evening love Yvonne xxxxxxxx

Poor you. Unacceptable treatment I think. I don't have food delivered yet but it sounds a good idea. Make a fuss !!

Wine appreciation sounds good. I love going to wine events and end up feeling knowledgeble but in fact I can drink nearly anything !!

Hope you have a better day tomorrow. Love, Jean

Thats unusual for tesco. Being as i don't drive I have had my shopping delivered for the last couple of years by tesco and one winter they even cleared and gritted my drive so they could bring my goods in safely... yes they carry shovels and grit on the delivery van. Janexx

hello Nanna B. I wanted to pass this by you . Today I had an e mail post . it was from young girl who had picked up my profile hoping I was well . She told me she is a caring loving romantic young girl and wanted to tell me something that was vital .

have you ever had anything like this sent to you . I do have a name and e mail address

NannaB profile image
NannaB in reply tocabbagecottage

I'd ignore it and definitely not contact her email address....if it really is a "her". Why would a stranger need to contact you with something vital. It is probably someone praying on your vulnerability. I ignore many similar emails. If any of them had been genuine, the person with urgent need to contact me would have found a way...they didn't. If it was the Healthunlocked profile they read, you can contact the tec team and tell them. Ignore it, don't think about it, sleep well.

I have been using the Internet for some time now but it the first time I have received something I want to quite comfortable with . I hate being suspicious . II wouldn't like to o think it was someone in trouble who I could support in any small way but that's how easy it is to get sucked in . I am deleting it .

how would I report it if it happened again .

NannaB profile image

I don't know how you report a suspicious email. At different times I have received two emails from friends. They have called me by my first name, their email address included their name and I presumed it was from them. The first one said they were on holiday and had been mugged and lost all their cash and could they borrow money from me. They stated the amount and told me how to send it. Two things made me suspicious, the first, why would they ask me when they have working, quite wealthy sons and daughters, and two.......they had been playing the ukulele in my house an hour before the mail was received! I phoned him to tell him and the same email had been sent to everyone in is email address book. He sent a warning to everyone. Months later I had another one which was very similar from another friend. I have now selected in settings to only get mail in my inbox, if the address is in my email address book. I have to check junk mail daily, especially if I'm expecting something from a company for example, but everything else I delete without reading especially emails that say the bank needs more information or there is a problem with my account. Any real company will write if there is a problem that I haven't responded to.

I used to trust everyone. Now unfortunately I have gone the other way. Probably the result of watching too many crime programmes on TV.

Hope your weekend is good. Another bank holiday Monday so I won't get my Crossroads sitter...rats!

It's warm and sunny here at the moment. We are going out at 12 noon as I'm treating my brother and sis in law to lunch at the garden centre for their wedding anniversary. I hope it will be ok. PSP is bad, PSP with ulcerative colitis is a nightmare. At 2am I was cleaning him up in bed, at 5 am I was cleaning him up in bed and at 7 am, as the carer and I stood him up, he "exploded" the contents of his bowel with such force, it travelled 4 ft hitting the bed, wheelchair, chest of drawers as well as covering the floor. We got him on the commode but the wheels went through it as we wheeled him to the wetroom. Hooray for parquet flooring. I cleared the floor while the carer showered him. I'm going to get him on the commode at 10.45, giving me time to clean him up again if we have a repeat performance. Once he is sitting he is ok so should be ok for lunch as he will stay in his chair from home to restaurent and back. In case of a disaster we will only be 3 minutes from home by car. I know there will be another explosion when we get home and hoist him from his chair. The only positive, a big one, he isn't in pain.

Happy days.

hope you enjoyed your lunch put at the garden centre . I am looking forward to the reopening of an garden centre not too far away from us . I can't go too far away now with leaving John .

it got burnt to the ground and we thought they might not rebuIld , everyone is so pleased about it .

you do have an awful time , it s the bowels and water works that seem to give us the biggest problems . that's on top of the feeding of course and drinking . I am trying to get fluids into John at the moment . you have to be so vigilant don't you .

We had a good time thanks but another explosion when I transferred him onto his chair. Hooray for night nurses. He had to be changed at 3 and 5 am. The carer got him up at 5 so he is asleep in the chair now although I have already had to change him again. Our garden centre was rebuilt last year and it is so much bigger and better than the previous one so hopefully your new one will be super duper. Have a good bank holiday. A bit of gardening for me I think.

I loved the garden and did most everything in there . I am finding it difficult now though .. I asked a friend if he would go round and spray weed Killer for me . my neighbours either side are not gardeners so it comes from all sides .

he arrived this morning and stayed for quite a while . HE has cleared and hoes the back and will come back . they are the best sort of friends aren't they.

I am most grateful .

john is the other way I have already hoisted him a No of times he is actually trying at the moment but not succeed .

Had to turn my chip pan off . It's never the right time is it . O well off I go. Again .

Hi you are asking how to report mail here. At the bottom of the post, there is a reply box, recommend box and a little box beside that with an arrow pointing down, if you press that it says "report"! Don't know what happens after that, as I only pressed the button to see what it did. I'm sure it will have instructions. We must ALL be wary of strange or unwanted email, phone calls etc., there are loads of people out to defraud vulnerable people, like ourselves. Don't worry about reporting, if it's genuine, that person will not mind, just glad you have been vigilant! Certainly DO NOT give out any personal details, until you are happy.

Lots of love

Hi, mine is in English! I would contact the helpline, with both matters. They seem to be fairly proactive when I have had a problem.

No wonder Tesco 's made such huge losses !

It seems one supermarket here have now started on-line shopping with delivery - I found out about this just after I'd read your first posts about your shopping not arriving. You can pay cash on delivery here. However, we live at the end of a complex set of dirt tracks in a village 6 miles from the shop so I shall wait to try home delivery!!!
