Ear Infection - psp

Did anyone with psp ever complain of pain inside their ears similar to an ear infection? The doctors have looked in the ear but there is no infection.

My Husband was check very thoroughly by a specialist when we first started this journey to find out what was wrong with him ,Nothing was found and he had no pain .He had a ear infection when he was young boy.

Dee in BC

Oh my goodness, this is so weird, mum had this for a long time, said she thought there was something deep down in her ear a good few years before PSP diagnosis.(She was diagnosed 4 years in) It never ceases to amaze me how these puzzling things lock into the same path!

Hi my husband Complained of what he thought was an ear infection for a while about a year before other symptoms starting to show what was psp

same with my husband but make sure you wash the ears twice a day they can get very greasy and then dry . Since starting this he has not had any trouble . Use head and shoulders shampoo . The GO recommended it and I works

My mother tugged at her ear (just as a young child does) in the mid to latter stage of PSP. She was checked for an ear infection and results were negative. She had a pretty significant wax build up that we stayed one step ahead of. This was the side of her body that ultimately was her best side and she was able to use.

today the doctor checked my ears again. I asked what he is looking for and he told me excessive wax build up and also he used an instrument that blew pressure on the ear drum to check for fluid and infection. After words he told me my ears were clean and there was no wax or fluid/ infection. I know that somehow the balance issues in psp are related to the angle of my head ( I always keep my head tilted back) and also something in my inner ear that detects gravity or orientates the horizon. Although the medical websites are full of evidence that our eyes inability to aim down is the culprit, I believe someday the medical world will figure out that the inner ear is also involved in PSP. I can feel it. I am not saying that this causes hearing problems, I am saying the inner ear is causing balance problems. I understand there are those who do not agree with me.

I think you are right ! I had a very bad ear infection when I was in my early 20s . Now I am in my 50s the PSP takes over. It makes you think there might be a connection. My first symptom was a unexplained fall down a flight of stairs. I lost my balance.
