Hi Annielee

If you live in the UK, speak to your local Adult Social Service, your Commnity Matron, your local hospice, your GP, your falls clinic, your husband's neurologist, Carer's UK, the PSP organistation or just shout from the roof tops for help.

good luck and take care and I hope you achieve your goal.

Hello, If your husband is a veteran, he may qualify for respite care, where you can have him stay for a week and you can get some rest. I just found out about this and will be taking my husband for the first time in June. I live in the U.S. Hope this helps.

If he is bedridden it may be that the hospice will take him for you. The Parkinson's nurse would be able to advise you. She can be contacted via the hospital or GP if you are not yet in touch. I do hope you get a rest. We left mum in a lovely care home for a week when we needed a break and it was total peace of mind.

daughterno1,

Thanks soooo much for this info. It sounds just what I am looking for. So I just call the hospital & have them give me the # of the Parkinson nurse? I live near Dallas Tx & I bet they will be able to help me. Do you think I could just call a hospice group?

As you live in the USA your support systems are likely to be totally different to those in the UK. I would suggest that you contact curepsp the charity that supports people with PSP, carers etc in the USA for their advIce - curepsp.org
