I went to a research study today at Vanderbilt Medical Center here in Nashville for a group participation on prostate cancer, I was not sure what is was going to be about but I was excited about going. It turns out that Vanderbilt is going to apply for a research grant to study the effects of ADT ( androgen deprivation therapy ) on the memory of men between the ages of 70 and 75 and wanted this groups input on what to ask, how to go about it finding participants, compensation, would we be interested in doing it if we had to have MRI's, blood draws, Spinal taps, etc..... it was very interesting to see how a research study is being put together. There were 12 guys there of varying ages, races and stages of cancer, but they wanted all our input on the study. I think it went well, had a good time, ate lunch, got paid $50 and got some leads on a local support group, not gay but its a start....anyway, got to go for now
