I had the hydrogel installed between prostate and rectum (under anesthesia) this week and another MRI today in preparation for CAT scan & SBRT radiation to follow. Gleson of 7 (4-3). Very dragged out and weak after 3 months of Lupron. Next 3-month shot next week

Do you have high risk features (e.g., stage, PSA) that caused them to prescribe Lupron? Lupron has never been shown to increase the effectiveness of SBRT, but if you feel more comfortable using it, that's fine.

My theory is this. I had an MRI more than a year ago Which showed almost certain significant cancer. However the urologist after two biopsies was unable to secure a core of that area and decided to wait. Three months ago he did another biopsy under anesthesia and was able to secure cores which showed the 7 (4.3). I suspect that because the largest tumor was right at the edge of the prostate he was afraid that it would metastasize before SBRT. My PSA now is 0.07 And testosterone seven. He certainly didn’t say this in my suspicions may be paranoid but that’s my guess.

That MIGHT explain the first shot of Lupron before deciding on a therapy - but why the second shot? I think these are good questions that you should be asking your SBRT RO. Urologists may not know anything about this sort of thing.
