Since the last doctors never brought it up, my new UCLA Dr wants genetic testing.
Question: Does Medicare, or have any of you on Medicare had it done, and Medicare paid the bill??

just call the billing department of your med provider - they will tell you pretty quick
I could not get my Decipher test done under employers insurance but got it quickly approved after starting Medicare.
yes, Medicare covers genetic testing if there is any family history of gene mutation. I had genetic counseling after a niece had confirmation of BRCA 2. Genetic testing also confirmed I had the same gene mutation
It should cover it. There are two separate types of genetic testing. One is on your hereditary blood line (can be tested with saliva specimen and free on promise study noted on one reply). If not covered by insurance get it for free. The other type of test is on the biopsy or surgical specimen to see how aggressive the tumor is. Decipher and Prolaris are these tests. They are quite expensive at full cost. Should your insurance refuse to pay you can get a cash price if asked for of less than 5 hundred dollars and not the several thousand listed but need to communicate with insurance. My Medicare policy covered it at no cost me but can depend on insurance and to some extent the Gleason grade of tumor
I've had genetic testing paid by Medicare. That's germline testing, not somatic testing (of the tumor). I should point out this was on traditional Medicare, not Medicare Advantage.
TEMPUS paid for my test themselves. Check their webpage for their financial aid section.
The testing company received my medical history, and stated Medicare will pay!!!
