Does anyone have any experience with taking ADT prior to a psma pet scan in order to increase scan sensitivity?
I have read that doing so greatly increases the sensitivity of the psma scan, allowing you to see things you might have otherwise missed.
What I'm unsure of is how how long before the psma scan do I have to take the ADT. Is it 1 week, 2 weeks, or 3 weeks? In other words, how long does it take for psma expression to peak after after starting ADT?
seems like it would be the other way around

There was a clinical trial conducted:
"Conclusions: Heterogeneous flare phenomenon in PSMA expression occurs after ADT treatment with GnRH antagonist. This phenomenon is most evident in bone metastases and might increase the detection rate of bone metastases and also have impact on radionuclide therapy or therapy planning. Overall the clinical impact on staging results is minor, therefore ongoing ADT is not a contraindication for staging PSMA-PET. The best imaging window is 2-4 weeks after ADT based on lesion detection rate."
I was told to only start ADT after my PSMA PET scan. If you start before, it might not catch the smallest mets. I had the first bicalutamide pill half an hour after my scan was completed and felt much better for at long last starting treatment.
the doctor started me on ADT before PSMA SCAN, not sure why but i would the getting PSA moving down or lowering would be something to do ASAP.
