I started 1 month after my RP. So about 3 weeks after cath was removed.

I was prescribed tadalafil 5mg, but told to start taking it only 7 days after the catheter was removed. Do you need to stroke your penis every day and do you need to reach orgasm?

I exercised mine with a pump....vacurect pump to be exact. My surgeon(not my uro)recommends 10mg tadalafil every other day and pump on the off days. Now, due to my messed up prostate BEFORE my PC diagnosis I was having trouble with erections and required 50mg of Sildenfil to achieve a useful erection. This was sporadic....sometimes I needed no meds. At 8 months post RP I could have sex like normal with meds. 18 months after my RP I'm pretty much back to where I was before. I can achieve penetration without meds but again, sporadic. So I just take 20mg of Tadalafil on the days we are going to be intimate. And yes, the more you exercise with your penis the more it will return to it's normal size and promote blood-flow. You do not need to orgasm.

I've seen a lot of variation. In my case, I was prescribed sildenafil on post-RALP day 7 when my catheter was removed. My first 'orgasm' was 4 days later. I consider myself extremely fortunate.
