My 1st MRI stated volume at 52cc, 2nd one 48cc.Is this an MRI discrepancy or genuine.

P.S. I had no treatment prior to MRIs

The prostate volume derived from imaging is inaccurate to put it mildly. They use the ellipsoid formula where prostate has a pear like shape. To give you an idea of how much they can err, mine was MRI estimated at 59 ml to end up at 33 ml after prostatectomy which is the only accurate way to measure by water displacement.

3 MRIS resulted in widely varying prostate volume estimates for me!! And a volume determined during TRUS biopsy added a 4th number> All mine did show a much more enlarged volume than yours. I'd guess the 48-52 is within a reasonable range, and certain doesn't mattter if it is 48 or 52...chilll!!
