My husband recently had biopsy with Gleason score of 4 + 3. Any recommendation for surgeon in Phoenix AZ area?

Are you also going to consult with RO re radiation option???
one core 4+3 ... check on radiation option...
Please don't be lured into the first treatment a urologist (surgeon) presents. Take some time to get genetic testing to find whether there are any complicating risk factors, and talk with Urologic Oncologists who specialize in Prostate Cancer. There are many treatments now that are as, or more, effective as surgery, with much less invasive treatment and potentially fewer side effects. Take some time to learn about prostate cancer and get accurate staging. The PCRI website (Prostate Cancer Research Institute) has a great online and printed staging guide that will help you organize your thinking and understand the benefits and downsides of many good treatment options. Finally, if possible, find a Prostate Cancer Support Group, like the ones I facilitate for the Cancer Support Community, where you can learn a lot from the first-had experience of other guys with PCa. Turn your very natural anxieties into positive action and get educated before you decide.
Thank you for this information. We are still waiting on the genetic and molecular pathology report to come back. I value everyone’s input as it will help guide us to the correct path. Being able to get feedback from someone that has taken this journey is extremely valuable . I appreciate the time you took to respond . Thank you!
i would get a second opinion on surgery.
Hi
I am currently being treated at MD Anderson in Gilbert. Am going the Radiation route. Have a similar number. You can look at my profile. I looked at Mayo but they did not accept my insurance and I have been very pleased with the level of care at MD Anderson too.
I see Dr Bryan Wong at BannerHealth M.D. Anderson in Gilbert. He’s an oncologist, not a surgeon (to my knowledge), but he’s a specialist in genito-urinary cancer. He could certainly get you to a surgeon if he isn’t one. I’m sold on M.D. Anderson.
I wouldn't rush into the RP surgical option. Arizona Urology Specialists is the practice I've been going to for years. They have a number of fine urologists there. They are also affiliated with a practice that offers radiation treatments rather than RP surgery.
i am here also fyi
