OK. One of my friends was claiming that it is dangerous because it might spread cancer cells.

Cancer cells can't spread until they have undergone a genomic transition called EMT. Low risk men are not in any danger of EMT.

I use Saw Palmetto. Prosta Strong or you could use beta sitosterol. I use both. Surgery not needed for BPH for me for the last 20 years. Best of luck to you.

I've been on AS for 18 years. Was low-risk Gleason 6 at start, now intermediate risk 3+4 and continuing with AS. Meanwhile, for BPH, in January of this year I had UroLift, which was a godsend. So, for me, the answer is yes.

It took 18yrs for gleason 7. How many biopsy cores and % of core sample were 3+3 and 3+4, Curious because I was diagnosed 3mths ago. 4 biopsy samples positive, 3(2%/30%/50%) gleason 6, 1 gleason 7(60% core, not sure % of 3vrs4 in this sample) on one side of prostate,.9mm lesion.64yr. Choosing AS, radiologist she wanted to zap entire prostate w/photon, I take Dutasteride to shrink prostate and arrest PCa growth thru fasting, exercise, natural testosterone blockers(flaxseed/sulforaphane/D2/K2/etc.

I had TURP surgery for BPH 10 years prior to a prostate cancer diagnosis. My only regret was waiting longer than I should have to get it done. How do I spell relief? T - U - R- P !
