I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced delayed pain in the butt-cheek muscle at the site of several Lupron injections over 2 years ago.
My last Lupron shot was in April 2020. I was getting 3-month shots for 18 months total, so each butt cheek got 3 shots each.
Recently I've been experiencing what feels like muscle pain (on movement or pressure) in the area of one cheek where the shots were given. It feels much like the pain I felt a day or so after the shots were given (I never had any pain WHILE the shots were being given - the urologist did them and was very good apparently.) It is pretty much a dull ache that gets a bit more painful if I move certain ways. It's been several weeks since this started.
Anyone?

hi Don. I was on the same schedule as you. 18 mos of Lipton which I finished in 2018. Over the last 2 years I’ve been dealing with a bad sciatica. At times I feel like I’m sitting on a sore muscle and it happens to be at the injection site area. Never though about it being the Lipton since the sciatica was so bad but it is a possibility. Dull pain and at times feels almost like a cramp.
Could be sciatica since I have a fairly advanced case of it (for about 20 years now.) Just never had this particular pain. It's a bitch getting older eh? 😂
I just received a Lupron shot at Sloan Kettering this week and they have changed the "preferred" injection site to the front of the hip to avoid irritating sciatic nerves, so I guess you are an example of why the shift.
Interesting.....as with others I'm on the 18 month regime. I have my last shot in early December (!!!!!!!!). So far, no lingering pain. A bit achey for just a day after and that's it. Good luck
an older friend gave me great advice years ago. “Never get old”. The woman was a true warrior. We used to call her “the rash” because she would never go away. She gave us her company until she was 93. Sadly, babe went away but after a great life
Yingsang - thanks! Someone else mentioned sciatica - which is indeed a possibility, I've had issues with it going on 35 years or so.. and I know it was acting up since I get numbness on the front of my thigh - that started a LONG time ago and comes and goes. My back also looks like a pretzel in X-Rays, with stenosis and spondylitis. Plus - just adding to the fun - bad sacroiliac joints (they lock up when walking - making walking VERY painful.)
As someone said "It's really funny being the same age as all those old people..." I guess the alternative isn't so good.
