The authors utilized the National Cancer Database to evaluate the differences in prostate cancer characteristics and treatment patterns between Hispanic American patients from different countries of origin. Overall, Mexican American patients were more likely to present with advanced disease with a higher PSA, higher T-score, and higher Gleason score. However, Cuban patients had worse OS when compared with Mexican patients.

Among the Hispanic American patient population, Mexican and Cuban patients had more advanced disease and worse OS compared with Hispanic American patients from other countries of origin.

(Comment - We not only are challenged by Prostate Cancer but we are also challenged by how we provide care for those dealing with it. I see this type of disparity repeated in my work as a Patient Advocate. JRP)
