Post surgery or any invasive treatment will irritate the prostate area and cause an increase in PSA. Nothing to be concerned about.

Sounds like good news. Here's to more of it in another 3 months.

Mine took a whole year to print 0.05 and continued rising until 0.17 where started Bicalutamide and consequently dropped. I would advise more frequent PSA tests so you will have more time to plan future steps.

Yep. I hear it’s never a straight line.

I feel obligated to say that my own strategy in the event of PSA results above the limit of detection (0.014 ng/ml for my case) following RP is to begin gathering information regarding e.g. the best radiation oncologist and radiation treatment team as candidates for a short list; also, whether to have genomic testing done on samples of tissue from the tumor, which I believe can be useful for e.g. deciding whether ADT should be included with SRT. The best recent discussion of this subject in my notes is the replies from Tall_Allen, including:

"It found that 3 consecutive uPSA rises or a PSA of 0.1 is as good as immediate (adjuvant) radiation", suggesting that it could be beneficial to start SRT and PSA at or above 0.10 ng/ml."

That discussion is at:

Best wishes for a good outcome!

The PSA reading is still very low, the urologist’s advice is reasonable. If the next reading edges up slightly, you could still be ok. It’s difficult to relax, I appreciate that but worrying will only make you miserable.

Obviously if your PSA trends upwards continuously then that’s worrying but there are still treatment options given with curative intent post surgery, please be kind to your self and live the next 3 months rather than knotting yourself into an agonising wait for the next test and it’s results; that’s no way to live.

Oh well what I thought was a good blood test result has turned into me feeling like it’s not, the last post I did was just after I had seen my surgeon and he was happy with everything, sadly when I posted it on here I was bombarded with negative messages, don’t think I’ll come back on here anymore

Way to go those are good results.2 out of 8 people gave a positive response.

I think the other brothers assumed you might be concerned it went up that tiny amount and tried to give suggestions.

So please stick around.

When it comes to posts sometimes they go south.

Sometimes posts they get all haywire.
