Thanks - interesting. The reason why SES correlated as a single variable but not after hierarchical regression is because SES determines where we live. Unfortunately, there is no way to separate AS from WW using the SEER database and they reflect opposite situations.

SES=socioeconomic status? Certainly very different, if not opposite situations. I admit the statistical analysis is above my pay grade (even when my mind is working normally, which it is not right now).
