Hi Dixiedad, Hope the results of your Pelvic and Bone scans are good. One of the things that may show up is "enlarged adrenal glands." Some studies show that as much as 40% of the population has this condition. It is almost never seen unless you have a pelvic MRI. (Or you have one of the diseases that is associated with adrenal cancers. In which case you would already be under treatment for that.) With enlarged adrenals your pelvic MRI report will say something like, "can't rule out" adrenal cancer. Then they'll send you back for an adrenal MRI, with contrast, which will likely come back as benign, benign, blah, blah, blah...
Gus - diagnosed 8/4/20; PSA <4; MRI guided biopsy w/26 cores: 1 Gleason 9, 4 Gleason 7, 4 Gleason 6; Pelvic MRI negative (except the adrenal thing); Bone scan negative; Surgery planned for next month (unless I don't like the results from 11/3, in which case I'm heading into the woods to go hunting until either the grizzly's get me, or the cancer gets me and THEN the bears get me.)
Over the lips, pass the teeth, through the gums, look out stomach here it comes. Why the hell do they make you wait until November 4th? Doc probably has the results tomorrow morning. Anyway, hope test is okay....
Bone scan clear. Pelvic scan clear except for 3 (?) nodes in/on prostate. Had 22.5 mg Trelstar injection yesterday. See RO next week. IMRT and/or seeds. Trelstar is testosterone inhibitor. No side effects yet.
Prostate typically gets an mp MRI but since you already had a biopsy that may not be the case. Didn’t they give you a report from the scan telling you specifically what they found?
