I am putting off psa testing. But not feeling so good about it.
CVS allegedly has à test that may be at home. My docs are dubious about it though.
If you don't mind me asking why are you putting off the PSA test.
My oncology practice has set up a drive-thru blood draw clinic for their outpatients. Works like a car-hop. Just have to stick your arm out the window. In and out in 5 minutes.
I went for my PSA blood draw at local Quest lab office a week ago. Staff were all wearing masks. Few patients, seating spaced apart and all but one wearing a mask. I made an appointment online to minimize my wait time there. Even their kiosk machines turned off to prevent the need to touch any buttons on it. I brought my own pen to sign the collection paperwork. I was very satisfied that any exposure was minimal. I was wearing a mask too. As soon as I got back to my car I used my home-brew hand sanitizer. And no, covid samples NOT taken at these offices -- big signs warning of that before you entered. I'm satisfied that the risk was very low.
It is slow growing so while frustrating, a months delay probably doesn’t much matter.
Excellus BC/BS is waiving co-pays for telemedicine visits. They're adding what would be the copay amount ($40.00 for a specialist ) to the fee they pay the doctor. I have a Medicare Advantage plan with them.
