Bucket List Week

What do you think of this idea?

Bucket List Week

A week where you commit to completing (or begin) one item on your "things to do before I die" list. Just one thing: a place to visit, a person to call, a skill to start. If it requires some planning, then use Bucket List Week to plan and to commit to it by, for example, buying a ticket or making a reservation. Otherwise, use Bucket List Week to complete one thing that you want to do before you die.

As an experiment, I suggest the week of November 10. In the USA, that week has a Monday holiday, too. Please reply with your thoughts, below. Consider the motivation a gift from Malecare.

My wife and myself had to cancel our 30 days (approx) trip to Paris because of my bad health.

Its OK for you to say Go AWOL, when your health is not totally screwed up. But, its a different matter altogether when it is.

I'm so sorry, whatsinaname. We're heading where you are, which is why we took the trip. I'm going to pull down my post.

No, please do not delete your post. You have every right to post what you feel. And, there is a reasonably good possibility that a lot of these "fighters" on this board will agree with you.

Sorry if I upset you with my post, but I too feel I have the right to dissent.

Cheers, spouse21. All the very best to your husband.

Thanks for your good wishes for my husband, whatinaname. I did pull the post. I meant it as encouragement to do as many things as PCa men enjoy before the disease or treatments cut off those opportunities. I should've given more thought to those who can barely get through their days. I'll leave it to Darryl and others to discuss Bucket Lists. I send you good wishes for getting through the tough place you're in right now.

Everyone’s bucket list changes over time. For men whose disease has taken the better of them, an item on their list might be to have some one offer a luscious back rub or a cool glass of homemade lemonade. It may be as poignant as using their last breath to tell someone that they love them. Bucket List Week is adaptable for everyone, even during their last hours.

Thanks, Darryl and also Richmondruss for mentioning the 2-3 day getaways. I hadn't thought of planning some of those even during my husband's chemo if he's up to it.

Thank you, spouse21, for the good wishes.

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August but have to wait until December for surgery. Right after the diagnosis I did one of my bucket list items.

I went to a Rolling Stones Concert. Now we are doing as many mini getaways (2-3 days) as possible before the surgery.

I guess the reason for taking your mini getaways now, is because you didn't get any satisfaction from the Stones concert...

I saw them in 1965 when they played at my college. Never thought any of them would not only still alive but still touring. Gives me hope for my future.
