Hernia after RP

Has anyone experienced a hernia after RP and if so did you get it fixed or just live with it?

We’ve heard many post treatment guys talk about new hernias.

I had a hernia, and my family doctor and urologist both said it would worsen if I didn't have surgery. My urologist also said it came about because the prostate was larger than the abdominal incision through which the surgeon pulled it out. I felt like Little Jack Horner's pie: he stuck in his thumb and pulled out a plum.

I have a hernia due to my RP and an operation is planned for 7/9.

It is occasionally uncomfortable and clearly protrudes above my navel.

Evidently, it is not uncommon as 0-20% experience it.

Mine occurred where the cut was made for the camera to be inserted.

I also have a hernia just above my navel where my (very) large prostate was extracted. It doesn't bother so as long as that's the case, we won't do anything about it. If it worsens, then yes...fix it.
