Brian Metcalf died from prostate cancer last night. Brian and I were friends for around ten years. He was the loveliest of men. He was caring to men with prostate cancer, becoming a support group leader in his local community and online and a most effective advocate for all of us. He loved talking about cricket and history. From any other man, I would have found those conversations boring, but with Bryan, the world...even cricket...was a delight. Brian helped introduce Malecare into the United Kingdom and encouraged many men in Britain to connect with those of us in the USA, in trying to find solutions to our mutual fight against prostate cancer. Brian was a kind and helpful fellow who loved his family and friends. I will miss him deeply and remember him always.

It is with profound sadness and yet gladness to read of Brian's passing. He was a wonderful man, so supportive and helpful to all of us, and he will be sorely missed.
And it's with gladness that we can celebrate his life, and his release from the pain and suffering at last. His last years were devoted to helping his fellow human being, and there is no nobler cause than this.
He was so supportive and kind to me, as well as so many others, and nobody can replace him. He leaves a void in our lives, and now he's got a well-deserved rest from his trials.
God bless his memory, and I'll never for get him,
Rest in peace, our friend,
Eric

He will be remembered.
Sorry to hear this.
Saddens me to hear that. We all have a date with the 'reaper'. RIP Brian.
Sounds like 'Brian didn't let prostate cancer define who he was! RIP
