So Im pregnant and have a 10cm cyst on my left ovary. So can anyone explain how come I'm 9 weeks, yet look 6 months pregnant! Not only is it crippling me in pain, but it's making it difficult to hide the fact I'm pregnant!

Honestky, I am so bloated its unreal! Any tricks to help me release this constipation?!

Charming I know! ;)

ok - i laughed my Witt off on these techniques but they seriously helped. I was on a verge of being treated by manual defecation (as bad as that may sound)

First drink Prune juice - lots of it.

You cant go off your folic acid or iron tab yet for couple of days (you are in your first trimester) - so the iron content in your body is also adding to the misery

So eat a lot of leafy salad - cabbage and cabbage soup (but make sure you wash and cut it properly)

Ring your GP and ask him for a stool-softener (take a spoon or two and keep rest handy while you wait) - dont worry you may not have to wait too long!

Keep moving around the house and keep massaging your butt cheeks while you are moving. massage your lower back starting from where your hands can easily rest to the butt-line from top to down position (you can actually imagine a really pressed up anus right behind your muscles and skin and all you are doing is trying to push things out by pressing it)

Use a foot stool below to rest your feet while you wait in an almost squatting position.

Do not push too hard that may cause discomfort to the rest of your insides, including maybe the uterus and ovaries. Read a paper or anything, but stay in the squatting position once you have done all the above and you can feel that you can possibly pass.

Another thing which might be entertaining is knocking the pinky-finger sides of your hand to each other (well its also a Chinese acupressure way for releasing constipation, but than clapping the sides of your hand might make you a little less tense and your body little more glad to give way)

And the last bit may sound completely gross, but if you have to manually defecate yourself, do it because if you wont the doctors might!

Anyways with the prune juice and stool-softener most of your stool would gain liquid consistency and would become easier to pass -except maybe the last bit down at the extreme bottom which may act as a plug and may require some force.

Good luck ! and sorry for the gross language - but its really funny. me and my husband were laughing so much as I was walking around massaging myself !!

But yup if you follow the prune juice regime it wont happen in future (or atleast is much less likely)

Syrup of figs is a good laxative. . I think ritz is talking about lactolose it just gave me wind personally... I'm not suprised ur swollen with a big cyst and pregnant bless you hope they sort it for u xx

Lactluose is a HORRIBLE drug! More often than not causes really bad cramping abdominal pain. Outside of one specific situation (hepatic encephalopathy) I don't think I've prescribed it since I was a first year!

Yup figs are good too or dried prunes if you dont find the juice immediately - but juice is seriously wonders.

Yup I got lactolose from the GP - although the bottle says you may need to take it for days before, I just had two spoons (and maybe more, read the prescription at the back for max you can have)

Also, asking someone to press your shoulders while you are squatting or strongly massage your calf-muscles otherwise might help (but be careful with calf-muscle dont get it pulled)

OMG you poor thing. I have got a cyst on my ovary but it is only 3cm but has caused me abit of pain on my left side but the doc said there is nothing they can do about removing it.

I dont know if you have told many people you are pregnant but if people start saying it and you want to keep it a secret are you telling them it is the cyst?? Get drinking prune juice and eating bran flakes that ought to shift it, bet its like a rumbling valcano in there...

I had quite bad constipation in my first trimester, even with plenty of fluids and fibre. Almost at the point of going to see my GP as my tummy was so sore and I was worried about developing haemorrhoids or a fissure. Liqcorice helped a bit. Prunes sorted it out!! 5 of each a day - sorted!!!

Hope you feel better soon - it's not a fun feeling!

Ok, so after all your fabulous tricks, i can confirm that yesterday.... I HAD A POO!!!!! :)

Thank youuuuuu!!!

I am also seeing the GP again tomorrow, as the bloomin cyst has grown... 11cm!
