Ive been looking into live in "Au Pairs"!
I know sharing your home isn't great, but having that support for a fraction of normal childcare costs, surely it's worth it? What are your thoughts?

I wont mind it - as long as the person can be trusted
Make sure they come with references you can check (more than just one ideally), and that they can provide you with a recent disclosure and barring check. X
Tbh i wouldnt want any stranger in my house as i like my own space but if you dont mind i use to be au pair in Paris and i had to go through loads of checks(even health check) as family i worked for had to pay for everything.but before i went to France we sent to each other loads of letters, there was loads of phone calls.you need to trust the person with your children, your home.i worked through au pair company but that was 12years ago so not sure how you look for someone now. But good luck whatever you decide xx
Hi there, I think as long as you have the checks carried out, plus I would try to meet her a couple of times prior to hiring. Also, I think in this country Au Pairs are not really meant to have sole charge of a child under 3 years, but this may be just the agency I checked policy. I wish we had've gone this route sooner as I have severe SDP, a little one and one arriving on weds morning. I think it would've been far easier than asking Grandmas to help! Good luck!
