I think its better to reach 12weeks but no later than 6-7 months.you need to check with your airlanes.i went abroad when i was 11weeks and the fly went ok.just few days after i was bleeding.my doctor said it had nothing to do with flying but i'm not sure.so best if you check with your dr or midwife and depends how you feel :)

I agree, 2nd Trimester, I am same as you 11 weeks, and not knowing I was pregnant have already had 5+ hour flights to Egypt and all was fine. Into 3rd Trimester always check with airlines as you have to be no more then a certain number of weeks on way back, they are all different and they don't want you going into Prem Labour on their flight. In some/specual cases I think a doc may have to sign you off fit to fly if is later in pregnancy. X

I travelled at 8 weeks from dubai to uk to carribean, and all the way back at 11 weeks, I'm also planning to fly to uk from dubai at 28 weeks in 4 weeks time, I do need a doctors note for the airline to say I can travel though. And it must be valid 48hours prior to flying. :-)

thanks for all the responses, very helpful, :D

we have decided we are defo going to go in april sometime so I will be between 16-20 weeks,

that will be the best time to fly not to early or not to late on, thanks everyone :D

16-20 weeks sounds good timing. I flew to Hong Kong at 17 weeks and back to uk at 27 ( with drs note)weeks!! I wouldn't advise flying economy on long haul just from comfort perspective!

Flying is generally ok if health is good.

Have a lovely time

traveled in my first trimester, planning a really important long flight during the beginning of my third trimester. The third trimester trip is so important at the moment, that I am completely concentrating on staying fit - I am anyways classified into low-risk pregnancy and I am hoping it continues to be the same in next two months so that I can take my three weeks big journey in beginning of May (I am due on 20th july and intend to be back in UK by 23rd of May)

I talked to mid-wife and my GP about it, and they said given my health condition I could be very fit to take a 5-7 hours flight to India, though recommended that i take some precaution with food and maybe some shots against tropical infections during my trip.

Also, I am keeping a track on my health and stay fit regime prior to that. And I hope I and the baby would be able to take our first adventure ride together all the way :)

(and when the baby grows up, I intend to tell him/her the nice story of our first big journey together and how I carried him/her in my Kangaroo pocket and what all fund stuffs we did while we were travelling)
