my 8months old is having 3 meals a day and only taking one 8oz bottle at bed time is this ok?

in a morning he will only take a few oz the has toast & porridge for breakfast, then at lunch he will eat a light lunch & pudding then for tea he has big meal & pudding, at bed time he will take an 8oz bottle of formula how much milk should he be taking?

Both of my children were exactly.the same. I just use to.put milk into.their food, cereal, mash etc. My boy had about 6oz in the.evening my girl had only about 4 oz in the evening. When she was 10 months old she refused formula.so.iput.her onto cows.milk. I use to give them.plenty of cheese, yogurt etc has they both had good diets except.not.really into the milk. They both had good weight gains. I did speak to.my hv and she said it was ok has their diet was good and hey had extra diary. I can't remember what amount of milk they should have at 8 months sorry but you can check with your hv. My two children are now 2 & 7 yrs old.

I recently asked my health visitor this question as I was concerned my LO was not drinking enough fluids she said that they like them to have 20floz per day but this can be in food as well as drink e.g. Breakfast cereal, cauliflower cheese etc. she also said that some babies are milk babies so still love their bottles ( this is definitely mine!!) and others are food lovers so need their milk through foods - this sounds like yours
