As soon as I found out I was pregnant I stopped riding my horses and put them out on loan, I dont know if this is available to you or if you have got somene that can ride for you. I know a few people that have carried on riding throughout their pregnancies saying things like "my horse is totally bombproof and I trust them etc" but you never know when an accident can occur even on the most bombproof of horses and will put you and your unborn baby at risk. I dont know of the medical facts about riding whilst pregnant but personally I just think it is irresponsible.

I've got 3 horses it's not the riding itself that's dangerous it's the risk of

falling. If you're around horses anyway there is a high risk of being

Kicked, shoved etc that comes naturally by having horses.

I've stopped riding one of mine that is more risky to ride

however I'm still riding the other as its bomb proof therefore my risk is low.

It is definitely not too rigorous if you're riding correctly and obviously not doing anything over the top ie. I'm definitely not jumping anymore but the movement of riding is naturally

a pelvic floor.

Basically it's a personal choice and speak to your midwife too for advice.

I have always ridden so asked the midwife and she said it was fine it's just the risk of falling off. I have a fairly safe one so carried on riding until at 4 1/2 months it got uncomfortable. Everyone is different but do what you think is best.

Depends on your horse. If it is likely to kick/ throw you then obviously not. However mine were fine and I carried on riding. It also depends on your physical shape-I didn't really show until 7 months so bump wasn't a problem (catching the pommel) but I know some women are huge early on and I can't imagine that being comfortable!

A word of caution however, my son ended up coming through my muscle because they were so strong from riding that they in effect blocked him in. Although he was fine it took some stitching to sort me out! But that said it was my strong stomach muscles from riding that enabled him to be born naturally anyway so it is a bit of a balance!
