how do I get 3 months baby to nap on back?

Dear all,

Basically our 14 week old baby, Tayir, had bad reflux in his early weeks and wouldn’t lay on his back during the day. He was able to sleep long stretches at night on back from quite early on - so it’s not the proper medical case of reflux that some ppl struggle with. But during the day he simply refused to be put down and continues to refuse it now at 14 weeks. My partner and i have been wearing our chunky baby in a baby carrier during the day for 10 weeks now and it’s nearly killing us - our knees are lower back are in very bad condition and we simply can’t keep going on :( Nowadays I don’t think he actually has the reflux anymore - for his digestion has really improved. I think he’s just gotten used to sleeping on us.

Would be so grateful for any advice at all on how to get him napping on his back during the day. I have been trying to train him by just trying the same sleep environment during the day that works for him at night - dim quiet room, Moses basket and his sleep suit - and just putting him down after he’s finished feeding and fallen asleep on the breast and at the end of his wake window (1.5 hours). But he lasts at max 40 mins :( in contrast when carried he sleeps for 3-4 hours. the result is the disturbed napping in day is now ruining his night sleeps too.

Help!! I would be so appreciative of any suggestions for transitioning them out of the carrier onto their backs.

Thanks in advance

our little boy needed noise and light to sleep during the day (which he will be used to with you wearing him too) and movement (opposite of night time) We played twinkle twinkle on Alexa and put him in his swing chair thing (that had a vibration setting too) in the living room to get to sleep or even just keep him content sometimes when I had to clean etc that worked well. The house went about its normal business so it defo wasn’t quiet, just turned the doorbell off as that was the only thing that did wake him x
