Hello,

Im 35 weeks pregnant and the past 3 days I’ve been experiencing extreme pain down below. It’s ok when im lying down but if I try and turn over in bed or when walking or standing it is so painful it really does hurt to walk. I feel as though It is all swollen and bruised and then when I walk it feels like the bruise is being punched in each time!! At my midwife appointment last week baby was 3/5 engaged so im not sure if this has anything to do with this? Im at the midwife for a growth scan tomorrow so am going to ask advice on this then but just thought I’d see if anybody had any advice please as i am in a lot of pain :(?

Grateful of any advice please x

Morning, it could SPD which is where the pelvic is inflamed. I had something similar in my pregnancy but luckily it didn’t last long. I remember I couldn’t even walk to school to pick up my daughter. A friend of mine suffered with it for months in her pregnancy.

Make sure you discuss it with your midwife and try to out your feet up and get some rest.

Good luck xx

make sure you give your midwife a call today. Better to get it checked out I think. Take care and feel better soon xx

you need to google 'fanny daggers'. Seriously. It's fairly common and it doesn't mean anything's wrong but I don't think there's much you can do about it. Hope it passes soon xxx
