How long between your bump dropping and actual birth?

I was very pleased when around two weeks ago at say, week 34 my bump dropped because then I could finally eat more food without being uncomfortably full. Plus I just like eating food. But now looking at Google, it’s saying that when your bump drops then it is 2-4 weeks until labour and birth.

Now ideally I’d like to get as close to week 40 as possible. I really don’t want to give birth early at week 37.

Can I please get a general consensus of the weeks between when your bump dropped to when your baby actually came out? Did your bump drop early like mine has but you still made it week 39/40?

Thank you

Try not to worry as it's not a real indication. I gave birth prematurely at 35 weeks and my bump never dropped. My friend's dropped early and she gave birth at 42 weeks. Also at 37 weeks baby is already in term, so don't worry about that.

And try not to Google ;)

Good luck!

With my 2 they dropped and then came back out of position then engaged again multiple times over several weeks so it's not an indicator of labour at all. Also 37 weeks counts as full term and so really should think of it as a due date window or month between 37 weeks and 42 weeks. They can come any time between then.
