2 missed periods and negative test

I have missed 2 periods but have negative pregnancy tests. I am getting a lot of pain like period pain and what I can only describe as contractions.

I have an appointment for a blood test to check hormone levels and ultrasound will be booked to see.

Has anyone ever had this before and ehat was the outcome. I'm 43 and we are trying for baby number 2 I'm worried I've hit menopause or something worse xx
