I am 22 weeks pregnant and I had bleeding last night. The colour was bright red and it was a small quantity. I went to the Maternity Assessment and they checked the cervix and the baby. All seemed fine. My cervix is indeed short (26 mm). I haven't had sexual relations in a long time. Has anyone experienced this at this stage? Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Congratulations on your pregnancy. I had a bleeding at 24 weeks, went to triage, there was no explanation, everything was fine, and it didn't happen again. It's quite common to get some bleeding during pregnancy, but I remember I was terrified at the time so I understand your worry. The important part is to always go to triage when it happens as only a doctor can decide if it's anything serious.
I just delivered a perfectly healthy baby and I wish you the same.
