I had the cervix measured today and it was 26 mm long. The sonographer said that she always under measures it and therefore its real measures would be higher. She was happy with the outcome and also added I would not need to repeat the measurement again. I would have thought that it would be better to repeat it, but probably that won't be possible. Any similar experiences? Thank you

Cervical length: 26-27 mm at 18 weeks. Is this ok?
I would take your sonographers medical knowledge over anyone on here if I'm honest. They've had medical training to be qualified to tell you what they have done. Great news that they're happy with it and you won't need further checks,
I measured 3cm at 14 weeks and gave birth at 26 weeks. Please ask to be measured again at your 20 week scan to see if there has been any shortening x
I've always been told that anything under 3cm needs to be followed up. I had a measurement of 4cm with my first and 3cm with my second and both were prem babies.
I would ask your midwife next time if the measurement is fine as my health boards guidelines may be different in Wales. At least then she can discuss with you whether a cervical stitch would be an option xx
