Best to go and get it checked by a medical professional straight away. It may be fine as some people do experience spotting/some bleeding in the early weeks of pregnancy, however, it may also be a miscarriage. I wish you all the best.

I recommend you ring gp to see if you can be seen at early pregnancy unit. Bit of hope I had this at 5/6 weeks for 5 days, then it stopped and I had viability scan and everything was fine. But it can be a sign that needs checking out. Hoping everything is okay x

As others have said, I would get checked at the EPU for your own piece of mind. However, I had brown spotting like this for all of my first 12 weeks. At times it went heavy and red but still everything was OK. It turned out I had haematomas on the sac which were causing the spotting and bleeding. All ok at 16 weeks pregnant today. Wishing you all the best xx

My midwife told me if it’s brown discharge type then not to worry this is completely normal but it’s when it starts looking more red you should get it checked out.I would call a gp anyway and speak to someone just for advice just for piece of mind.

Hey there, I had bleeding at 5 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks and again at 15 weeks, The bleeding at 5 weeks they said was from a ruptured blood vessel because I sneezed too hard, the rest of the bleeding they found no cause for but did say it could be from the clexane injections I am on (clexane thins the blood) I've been on it since a few weeks pregnant as I have various health problems. My advice would be to call your local early pregnancy unit and ask if you can be seen, they may book you for an early scan or tell you to wait and see if the spotting turns to red blood. Your other option is to go for a private scan, the costs vary but you can be scanned a lot sooner, I went for a private scan and that's how I know it was a ruptured blood vessel. Good luck.
