Data of covid vaccination on the 2º trimester

Hello everyone. I am 17 weeks pregnant and I would like to get vaccinated. I've been reading lots of scientific literature on this matter. Most of the safety evidence I read is based on women who got their vaccine in the third trimester (nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/n... and no obvious safety concerns were found. The reason is that those who got vaccinated in the second trimester did not complete the pregnancy yet. Do you know of studies from other countries that include evidence related to vaccination in second trimester?

I had my first vaccination at 19 weeks and 2nd at 26 weeks. I'm currently at week 32. No apparent issues. Baby's growth is as should be and he's constantly having a party in there.

The data won't show babies born unless they are being followed for study, which most women aren't. Over 100,000 women in the US received their vaccine before it became available here in April, so there must be a significant amount of babies born now.

My understanding is that the vaccine can't cross the placenta so there shouldn't be an impact on baby.

I had both my vaccines in my second trimester as soon as the guidance changed for pregnant woman to get out, so I think it'll be a while before there's lots of data about 2nd trimester especially in the UK because I'm only 35 weeks now. Same as the other poster, my baby is doing well, I have extra grown scans because of gestational diabetes and baby is moving well and all looks good.

I know there is a study starting soon looking at the best interval between doses for pregnancy and there is some interesting stuff on the government website about what they've found so far...

gov.uk/government/news/new-...

Following 130,000 pregnant women being vaccinated in the US and no safety concerns being raised, the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines were recommended by the independent experts at the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) for pregnant women in the UK. Almost 52,000 pregnant women in England have now been vaccinated – similarly, with no safety concerns reported.

Data published last week by NHS England and the University of Oxford also shows no pregnant women who have had both doses of a vaccine have been admitted to hospital with COVID-19. Only 3 have been admitted after having their first dose, meaning 98% of those admitted to hospital have not received a jab.

I’m very similar to both posters above - pfizer jabs at 18 and 25 weeks. Now coming up to 32 weeks baby growing/moving well. No discernible side effects (except sore arm) Feel much more secure out and about knowing I’m double jabbed (thanks for the extra info Seb9!)
