Should I be worried about still not feeling movement?
I'd say don't worry just yet, some can't feel anything up to 20 weeks. If you're really concerned, have a chat with your midwife xx
I think they say if you've not felt it by 24 weeks to speak to your midwife? I have an anterior placenta and I didn't feel the baby until a lot later and even then just flutters, I'm now 28 weeks and it's definitely not what I would expect movement to feel like as my placenta is cushioning most of it but I've been assured all is well! I'm sure you'll feel it soon and it'll then be constant! xx
Hey chick. I felt the exact same last week when I was 17 weeks. I spoke to my midwife she really reassured me it’s very common. This is my 4th pregnancy. I thought I’d feel the much sooner. With my previous pregnancies it has been around 16-18 weeks and proper kicks 20 weeks.
Below and behold hit 18 weeks and we have movement.
I now have movement and it’s not low or high it seems
To be rolling all over. This afternoon quite high above my belly buttons it was rolling and popping.
I’m hoping it is normal and we have a
Long baby inside and my uterus is really stretched as it’s 4th pregnancy.
Keeping everything crossed you feel movement soon. Xx
I had this worry with my second and it turned out that I had an anterior placenta. When is your 20 week scan? I didn't really feel much until 24 weeks and even then it was quite 'muted'. I'm 35 weeks now and only just beginning to feel stronger movements. That being said, even if you don't have an anterior placenta I wouldn't worry just yet. I don't think you necessarily feel them earlier with subsequent pregnancies. X
I wouldn't worry too much. I'm 21 weeks at the end of this week and only just been feeling flutters since 19.5 weeks. Scans all fine so nothing for me to worry about. I didn't feel my first born properly move until 23 weeks so expecting the same now with my second. xx
Hi Lauren95. It could be that you have an anterior placenta which tends to make it harder for you to feel the movements. With my first pregnancy, I had a posterior placenta but with my second one had an anterior one and it took significantly longer for me to feel any movements. I wouldn't worry about it.
