I've not had a water birth at home but had them at hospital with both my kids, they are so relaxing I would recommend them to everyone I know.Could you not ask your mw when you see them next or when you do your birth plan x
I had a home water birth, which was awesome awesome, so glad I did it. The water was such great pain relief and being at home, especially after the birth was wonderful! My mum ce when labour started to set up the pool whilst my partner supported me which was really good as it took ages so I would advise having someone extra to your birth partner to set up. Our local mat unit in Sheffield loan out birth pools for home births. I'm pretty sure it was the regular size one of these birthpoolinabox.co.uk/pages...
Pack down wise it came with a pump and you pump it into the toilet so having it not too far from a toilet is useful. They are best set up downstairs as not all upstairs floors can take the weight of all that water and we have a downstairs toilet so that worked for us, but worth thinking about! Again, I would recommend having someone that's not you or your birth partner who's willing to help you with that bit! My mum, bless her, sorted it out whilst I sat and stared at my beautiful baby and recovered!
Go for it with the pool!! I am so happy I went down that route and would 100% do that again!
