I am 10 weeks and only just seen my midwife now i understand covid but ive already had complications in my pregnancy and im over worrying!
I am 12 weeks christmas eve and my midwife hasnt even got my details to send over to the hospital yet 😫 she is phoning me in the next week or so! Can i ring the hospital up and explain and see if they will book me in for my 12 week scan??
If you've had your booking in appointment with your midwife she'll put on the request for your scan details to the hospital so you can have your scan up to 14 weeks, so you've got a little while for your scan date to come through from the hospital before you need to be concerned. If you're really worried though you could always organise a private scan to check everything is OK before your nhs one.
Okay thankyou! It is my 3rd child but with the other 2 i always seen my midwife at 7 weeks then within a week got a scan date & ive spoken to others who are due just before me and they seen their midwife at 7 weeks just feel like she is very unorganised compared to other midwifes! Lol
You still have time for your Scan yet one of mine was at 13.5 I think even the last I had was 13 week Tbh I had lots of worries and found speaking to the midwife helped .im a little confused by your post as you say you just spoke to the midwife but want to ring the hospital the midwife is your go to throughout your pregnancy unless you need to change any hospital appointments.if the midwife hasent got your details it's probably the g.p you need to speak to about sending them over
My last pregnancy i rang the hospital up and made my own appointment due to me having problems! Shes not getting my details for another week due to all this covid as were not allowed in the doctors for that long so she wants to do the rest over the phone ive already spoke to my doctors and they said their is nothing they can do. I know my midwife is my go to but she is very hard to get hold of, she hasnt left me any numbers to ring so my doctors have had to give me a bunch of numbers to ring her
I'm sorry you are having issues you can usually ring triage and like you say a bunch of other numbers what kind of problems are you having is there anything I can help you with ?I've had 5 pregnancies so far I was very worried at the beginning of this one but found you don't get much help till 12 weeks I had to have a few private scans.is there anything in particular you are worried about
Its probably nothing bad but as a mom you just over worry dont you! I was bleeding for the first couple of weeks i did have a scan at 6 weeks and everything was fine at that scan! I just cant seem to stop worrying!
Ive also had 2 previous csections & ive never had pain with my scar untill now when im lying in bed if i turn over or even sit up its like im tearing the insides of my scar if that makes sence? Its horrible.
I'm so sorry I've also had 2 c sections and get those pains you are talking about I got them a lot at the beginning which I wasn't expecting.yes pregnancy can be a very worrying time I had a bit of a scare at 20 weeks and thought I may misscarry but all turned out well.i had a previous misscarrige at 12.5 weeks and I still worry now at 31 weeks as time goes on I feel a bit better. I think midwives have gone downhill a bit these past few years you don't get to speak to them much unless calling a number with mine I only see her more because of high blood pressure and needing growth scans it's not how it used to be years back they seem to step back more .at the beginning I didn't stop worrying and mine dosent even text back
Yes ive had these pains alot with this pregnancy, i never had it with my 2nd pregnancy so when i got it i was very surprised! Ah so sorry to hear about your previous misscarriage. Must be such a worry for you.
They have definitely gone downhill with both my previous pregnancies i was seen by the midwife at 7 weeks had my scan date through the post by 10 weeks for my 12 week scan, im still trying to get through to my midwife but ill have to wait now till thursday when she calls me as she is only in once a week!
I think this is the new normal, I didn’t see my midwife until after my 12 week scan which was around 13 weeks and even then it was for five mins. She told me how to use a maternity app which has no info on and no contact details for her! At my 16 week appointment I saw a different midwife who checked for a heart beat and sent me on my way, I don’t even know either of their names 🤷🏻♀️😂 I had to go to hospital after falling over and just rang my local hospital maternity triage who were really helpful so if you need too you can always ring them x
Its just rubbish isnt it! Suppose im also being abit impatient as my last 2 pregnancies i was seen by my midwife at 7 weeks and had scans at 12 weeks. Ive never had them be so unorganised! Lol The hospital have got to set that app for me im actually dreading it lol
Ive rang the hospital today and she still hasnt sent my details over to them about my pregnancy but i will just wait till thursday when/if my midwife rings me x
I’ve had 3 mmc at 12w previously no extra special treatment/appointments I’ve arranged 2 extra scans myself as I was very anxious. Tbh I’ve got to see/speak to my midwife pretty quickly at 7w/8w for bloods then booking in my scan was at 13w also got my 20w scan date. You have up til 14w for your scan if you can’t wait I do recommend a private scan just to take some of the anxiety away.
