Hello everyone, my newborn baby 3 weeks old has been vomiting off and on in the nights . He vomits after his Aptamil feed through his nose and mouth. I can't see him like that.. but after the vomit he is fine again like nothing has happened. It gets me worried as its my first baby. Don't know what I should do. Kindly need some advice.
Thanks in advance

When you say vomits is it a small amount of large? Does he vomit during the day too? Baby posset and vomit and can be normal. If only at night could it be you're not burping him properly and putting him down too early?
If you're bottle feeding babies can often take on more milk than they need as it's easy to suck the milk through the teat and it's easier for them than working to get the milk from the breast. Maybe look up pace feeding, which tries to make bottle feeding more like breastfeeding so baby has to work a bit harder to get the milk and can spit out the teat when they're full. They would also cluster feed taking on little bits of milk over a long period of time if they're breastfeeding so bottles are very different as they provide a large amount of milk very quickly. A lot of times feeding with a bottle holding baby laying down means they can't let go of the treat so have to keep drinking so maybe try holding baby a little more upright to feed and wind them during and after feeding.A little bit of posseting after milk is fairly common, but maybe if you try pace feeding and baby is still vomiting, especially if they're not gaining weight it might be worth speaking to your health visitor.
I imagine he's a little guzzler hun. Like someone else has said, bottle fed babies can just eat n eat until they're sick. My son was bottle fed n my daughter is being bottle fed too.
Once you've fed him, keep him upright for half hour or so. The fact he's sick after his bottle probably means he's just had too much. My daughter has reflux n she can be sick an hour or so after her bottle never normally straight away.
I second everything said above. I’m a first time mum with a baby who suffers from silent reflux and it has been such a big learning curve feeding wise! Lots of little issues. It does sound like your baby is getting too much. I know I overestimated how much my baby could take in the beginning few weeks - you will know your baby and their feeding habits very soon. Just sending best wishes and to say you’re no doubt doing a great job - being a FTM during lockdown can be so so isolating and difficult. ❤️❤️
